Welcome to DATA
The Depositary and Trustee Association (DATA) was formed in 1999 and represents the industry views of depositaries of open-ended investment companies (OEICs), and Authorised Contractual Schemes (ACS) and trustees of unit trusts within the UK.
Its members act as depositaries and trustees of UK Authorised Funds as well as other types of fund.
There are two types of Membership:-
Full Members
Trustees and Depositaries authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority to act for UCITS Funds and any type of AIF are able to join as a Full Member. Membership provides the entity with a seat on the DATA Executive Committee and the opportunity to work with other Members for the mutual benefit of the Industry.
Affiliate Members
This category of membership is available to depositaries and trustees who act for funds other than UK Authorised Funds.
These include Investment Trusts, Private Equity, Real Estate and Venture Capital Trusts, both EEA and non-EEA domiciled, as well as non-EEA AIFs managed by EU AIFMs. Both DATA Members and DATA Affiliate Members may act for these types of funds.
DATA Affiliates have their own Committee which ultimately reports to the Executive Committee.
DATA’s prime objective is to promote, support, oppose or propose changes in the relevant legislation, in respect of the responsibilities of members of the Association and to promote and support the development of the depositary and trustee industry in the UK. In addition, DATA undertakes to promote and support research, and to co-ordinate and support initiatives for the future growth of the industry.
